Farm Business Management and Benchmarking Grants

The Farm Business Management and Benchmarking Competitive Grants Program provides support for projects designed to improve the farm management knowledge and skills of agricultural producers and establish and maintain a national, publicly available farm financial management database. Programmatic objectives include the following: advance data gathering and conduct research on cost of production, farm profitability factors, and farm policy; develop or expand cooperation and data sharing among existing farm management associations and farm business management education programs; provide training and software to states with farm management associations; improve the competitiveness of small and medium-sized farms and ranches; establish or expand collaborative partnerships with the national farm management benchmarking center; and improve producers’ abilities to successfully manage their agricultural operations through periods of high risk, volatility, and financial stress. The application deadline is June 27, 2011.
Funds for State Educational Personnel Development
Department of Education
The State Personnel Development Grants Program provides support for efforts designed to reform and improve personnel preparation and professional development systems in early intervention, education, and transition service programs in order to improve the knowledge and skills of personnel to meet the needs of, and improve the performance and achievement of, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with disabilities. The application deadline is July 5, 2011.
Support to Tribal Organizations and Migrant Programs for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention Programs

The Grants to Tribes, Tribal Organizations, and Migrant Programs for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention Programs provide support for child abuse prevention programs and activities designed to prevent the occurrence or recurrence of abuse or neglect within tribal and migrant populations. Priority will be given to child abuse prevention activities and family support services that will enhance the lives and ensure the safety and well-being of migrant and Native American children and their families, including voluntary home visiting, respite care, parenting education, mutual support, family resource centers, domestic violence services, and other family support services. The application deadline is July 7, 2011.
Disability Employment Initiative Funds Systems Change and Employment Service Models
Department of Labor
The Disability Employment Initiative provides support for activities designed to improve educational, training, and employment opportunities and outcomes of youth and adults with disabilities who are unemployed, underemployed, and/or receiving Social Security disability benefits, and help these individuals with disabilities find a path into the middle class through exemplary and model service delivery by the public workforce system. The application deadline is July 15, 2011.
