 Dennis Fujimoto/The Garden Island Stu Burley, president of the Kaua‘i Navy League, presents the recipients of the Navy League scholarships: Chas Okamoto of Kapa‘a High School, Adriana Medeiros of Kaua‘i High School and Kyle McDonald of Island School. 

PUHI — Chas Okamoto has applied and been accepted at many universities and will have his choice of the institution he wishes to attend, states a release from the United States Navy League of Kaua‘i.

Okamoto, graduating from Kapa‘a High School  May 20, is one of three scholarship recipients, who along with their parents, were honored by the Navy League during its meeting Friday at the Regency at Puakea.

Joining Okamoto are Kaua‘i High School senior Adriana Medeiros and Kyle McDonald of Island School.

Okamoto, the son of Charles and Nellie Okamoto of Princeville, plans on pursuing a course of study in Civil Engineering and has excelled in academics, ranking No. 1 in his class at Kapa‘a High School.
