Na Pua No'eau Summer Insitute: Na Mamo a Kalakaua

Na Pua No`eau Summer Institute:  Na Mamo a Kalakaua – this is a two-week residential program.
When: June 12-25, 2011
Who: You must:
– be of Hawaiian ancestry
– be currently in 9-12 grade
– have a high interest, potential, or ability towards the class for which you are applying
– for students residing on O`ahu only
Costs: – Free (there is no tuition)
– A t-shirt fee of $15.00 will be assessed upon acceptance and due with application packet
– A $100.00 refundable dorm deposit will be assessed upon acceptance and due w/application packet
– Meals and boarding provided during the program

Summer Freshman Bridge at UH Manoa – this is a six week residential program.
When: July 3 – August 13, 2011
Who: Spaces are available for incoming, University of Hawaii at Manoa freshmen interested in science and engineering
– Preference will be given to Native Hawaiian, Polynesian, and Alaska Native or Native American students

Activities: – Math and Hawaiian Studies courses (for credit)

– Hands-on STEM activities, projects, and field trips

– Nightly Study Sessions

– Cultural Case Studies

– Community Projects and site visits

Benefits: – Summer housing, meal plan, tuition (expenses paid)

– Receive up to a $1000 stipend for academic expenses

– Earn six credits of required UH Manoa coursework

– Acquire knowledge and hands-on experience

– Learn to navigate your way through the University of

Hawaii system

We also have our academic year Scholars Program.  This is for current college students.  I think it’s always nice for high school students to know that there are programs available that can help them once they get to the college level.  The link to this program is:
