Applicants sought for companies’ gift giving

KAHULUI – Young Brothers and Hawaiian Tug & Barge are accepting grant applications for their Community Gift Giving Program from nonprofit community organizations in Maui County. The program will award grants of up to $2,500 per organization.

The deadline is Oct. 29. Applicants must be approved 501(c)3 nonprofits working in the fields of health, education, civic and community service, youth activities, cultural enrichment, the environment or special community projects.

The HTB/YB program has awarded $699,000 to 666 nonprofit organizations in the islands since 2001, of which $265,000 went to 210 Maui organizations.

The Maui County Community Advisory Board members are Sandy Baz, chairman; Roy Katsuda; Jo-Ann Ridao; and Frances Feeter.
